God’s Healing Power

God’s Healing Power

2 Kings 20:3 (NKJV)

“Remember now, O Lord, I pray, how have I walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what was good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

2  Kings 20:3 (NKJV)

Bible prayers for healing and health are based upon the promises of God. They are not magical formulas, but they are faith-building meditations that enable the person in need to reach out for all God has for them.

The Lord has given this example of His healing power to show how promise-packed prayers expressed in heartfelt faith can meet our physical needs. Yes, God does hear our prayers and He promised, “If you diligently heed to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight and give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes I will put none of these diseases upon you which I have brought upon the Egyptians for I am the Lord Who heals you” – Exodus 15:26 (NKJV).

Sometimes in life, we can be so rebellious because of our own selfish nature (I’m not answerable to anyone). Selfishness takes a toll on us; no sleep, feeling of sickness, thus, troubled minds. But God in His mercy reminded us in John 14: 27, that He is our only hope and peace.

In the account of King Hezekiah, the prophet  Isaiah came to him and prophesied, “…Thus says the Lord: ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die, and not live” – 2 Kings 20:1. Hezekiah, however, responded with prayer and tears, humbling himself and showing remorse before God (V 3). The Lord responded by acknowledging King Hezekiah’s prayer, healed him, and added fifteen more years to his life (V 5-6).

Hallelujah! Our God is a prayer answering God, prayers that are based upon the promises of God’s Word. Are you aware of His promises? Come to Him today and benefit.

Prayer

Father, Your Word shows me that to be spiritually minded gives me life and peace along with good health. Renew my mind. I know that You will keep us in perfect peace as we keep our minds focused on you. You promise in Your Word (Hebrews  13:5), that You will never leave us nor forsake us. I praise You for honouring Your Word. Thank You for caring about my well-being and for Your promises. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
